My interest in business and economics started with my high school studies in “Economics & Modern Languages”. This inspired me to pursue further education in this field. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), which provided me with a strong foundation in international business, and was taught in English using a hands-on academic approach.
Following this, I completed my Master of Science in Business Administration at the same university, with a focus on international business and relations. I further expanded my knowledge by studying at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea, which is known for producing numerous alumni who have gone on to become CEOs in various industries.
After completing my formal education, I joined UBER (UBEReats) in Brussels as an early team member, where I helped to launch multiple cities. Seeking a new challenge, I enrolled in the Masters in Innovation & Entrepreneurship program at Vlerick Business School. This degree equipped me with the skills and knowledge to successfully run innovative companies.
Academic Background
A Bachelor and 2 Master degrees focused on business, international economics and real life use cases.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Business Administration. After completing my studies, I joined UBER (UBEReats) as an early team member in Brussels. As one of the first employees of UBEReats in Brussels, I was instrumental in launching the service in multiple cities. My experience at UBEReats taught me a lot about working in a fast-paced environment, particularly in the early days, when we faced many challenges that required us to be innovative and resourceful.
After gaining valuable experience at UBER, I decided to pursue my entrepreneurial ventures in mobility and technology. In 2018, I co-founded Freel, which was at the forefront of the micromobility revolution. We started with mechanical kick scooters and later evolved to connected kick scooters. In 2020, I founded SMOVE.CITY, which provides electric bikeshare solutions and a data analytics platform to cities seeking sustainable mobility solutions tailored to their specific use case.
Aside from my work in technology, I also have extensive knowledge of the real estate and construction industries. I have worked alongside my dad for over a decade in building and managing apartments, commercial real estate, and renovating and managing protected real estate like Belvedere, which we purchased and began renovating in 2014. Through these experiences, I also gained legal knowledge and represented us in court.
In my free time, I am passionate about discussing mobility with fellow enthusiasts. Recently, I started a podcast called Early Days Podcast, where I invite guests to discuss topics related to our industry and beyond. Check it out at https://www.earlydayspodcast.co/.
